👋🏼 Hi, I’m Andrey

And I love software engineering as well as product development.

I've been coding since 2017 and leading teams since 2019. The most exciting thing in development, for me, is bringing value to an end user, and growing a product and processes behind.

I have spent four out of my five years of experience working in startups, and I find this to be the most exciting time. It's gratifying to see how my work impacts both the company and its customers.

I have mostly worked on building full-stack applications using Node.js and the AWS ecosystem, also, I’m a big fan of the DevOps culture CI/CD approach for optimizing value delivery streams.

I have been coaching my teammates on the best engineering practices and soft skills. As a result, I have helped several developers grow from intern/junior to middle+ and senior levels.

I am passionate about working efficiently and using GTD systems for personal planning and development. I can easily handle high-loaded schedules and complex or uncertain tasks/projects. I always strive to perform risk management ahead of time.

Tech lead at Epam Systems

July 2022 - now

A big international outsourcing company. I joined as a Lead Developer, and have been holding the role of Tech Lead in a frontend application development team in a huge international network company as a customer.

Role and tech stack

Have been a Tech lead of a team of 4 developers and 1 functional lead
Worked in a high-complexity program with more than 500 people involved
Our project has a stack of React, Typescript, Redux-Observable, RxJS, Jest/RTL

Achievements

Increased effective development time by 18% (equivalent to 1 additional useful week out of a 6-week release timeline) by decoupling the development timeline from the QA process.
Reduced the code complexity, bundle, and codes sizes from 30k to 25k lines by introducing intentional tech debt, despite a significant increase in the number of features
Turned a workgroup into a team, 2 developers got promoted to seniors and zero developers left the team. Accomplished by introducing one-to-one meetings, pair programming, and additional team activities such as tech debt brainstorming and mentor-mentee teaming up.

Lead developer and Project Manager at Lean Geeks

August 2020 - June 2022

A small outsourcing team shipping software for startups. I joined as a developer, became a tech lead then took PM responsibilities as well, and led a team of 5 developers, 2 QAs, and 2 UI/UX designers.

Achievements

Launched MVPs for 3 products within the budget by adopting the Lean methodology and honest prioritization, using the customer development framework.
